Mariners drop another

Seattle dropped the series opener, 10-9, on Monday for their fourth loss in five games. The Mariners are 23-27 on the season, 13-13 on the road and 34-14 with the over. Seattle has Tommy Milone making his season debut tonight.

Seattle fell behind 5-0 in the first inning and trailed 7-0 before making a late rally to make the game competitive. Mike Leake took the loss, giving up seven runs over five innings. He allowed 11 hits with four strikeouts and is now 3-5 on the season. Daniel Vogelbach hit his 14^th home run of the season and had two RBI while Tim Beckham had three hits and five RBI, including his ninth home run. Edwin Encarnacion also had two doubles.

Rangers pushing for .500

Texas took the series opener on Monday for its fifth win in six games. The Rangers are 22-23 overall, 15-8 at home and 26-18 with the over. Texas has Lance Lynn taking the mound tonight. He is 5-3 on the season with a 4.94 ERA.

Mike Minor pitched pretty well for Texas, striking out 11 over six innings to get his fifth win of the year. However, the Rangers bullpen gave up seven runs over three innings to nearly blow the game. Texas hit five home runs in the win with Asdrubal Cabrera hitting two of them to get to nine on the year. Joey Gallo hit his 14^th homer of the year while Hunter Pence hit his ninth and Rougned Odor hit his seventh.

Milone is making his debut this season but he pitched in just five games last year. He has an ERA over 5 in his last three years. Lynn is coming off a strong outing, allowing just one run in seven innings. Lynn has gone seven innings in three of his last four starts and I think he will be able to have a strong outing against this struggling Seattle team. Texas can hit Milone like it hit the Seattle pitching on Monday.
