Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Lorenzo Cain went 5-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in the Brewers' 7-4 loss to the Phillies on Monday. Two of those hits were doubles, and he also stole his fourth base of the season. He scored on a Christian Yelich double in the first, and he drove in Ben Gamel with his own two-bagger in the fourth. Cain has had a shaky start to the year, but the five-hit day ups his season slash to .266/.321/.405. Expect all of those numbers to go up as the year progresses.
Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored on Monday in the Phillies' 7-4 victory over the Brewers on Sunday. Realmuto also drew a walk. With the scored tied in the seventh at 4-4, Realmuto hit his ninth double off the season off of Junior Guerra to score Jean Segura and give the Phillies a lead. Realmuto is now hitting .277/.342/431 on the season with 25 RBI over 38 games. Solid -- if not spectacular -- numbers to begin the season for one of the best backstops in baseball.
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The total has gone under in four of the Brewers’ last five games on the road but the over has cashed in 18 of Milwaukee’s last 24 games when playing the Phillies in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia
The Phillies have won five of their last six games following last night’s win.
Prediction:
I like Milwaukee to rebound tonight. Brandon Woodruff has been excellent this season, striking out batters at a 29.7% clip and walking just 6.6% of the hitters he faces. He is giving up some hard contact (45.1%) and his groundball rate is down to 38.4%, which could be a problem tonight. That said, his BABIP is 0.389, which shows he’s been unlucky when the ball is put into play and once that comes down, so too will his 4.25 ERA.
The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -107
