New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Gary Sanchez underwent concussion testing after being hit in the head by the backswing of Guillermo Heredia during Saturday's loss to the Rays. Sanchez remained in for the duration of the ballgame and said afterwards that he was feeling fine, but he'll be re-evaluated on Sunday just to be sure. Being a day game after a night game, it's likely that Sanchez would have gotten a breather on Sunday anyways, or at least functioned as the designated hitter.
Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-5 with a pair of homers and four RBI to record the first multi-homer game of his career and power the Rays to a 7-2 win over the Yankees on Saturday. Diaz launched a solo homer off Yankees’ starter CC Sabathia in the third inning before crushing a three-run homer off Nestor Cortes Jr. in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old slugger has blossomed into a solid four-category fantasy contributor, hitting .267/.357/.550 with 24 runs scored, nine homers, 22 RBI and one stolen base across 154 plate appearances.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 2-5 in Masahiro Tanaka’s last seven starts and are just 1-4 in his last five outings on the road.
Tampa Bay
The Rays are 16-5 in Blake Snell’s last 21 home starts and have won 21 of his last 29 outings overall.
Prediction:
Following a push on a 7-run total and an uncharacteristic blowup by the Yankees’ bullpen last night in the bottom of the eighth, the under has yet to cash in this series. But I think today is the day we’ll see the final score stay under the number. The under is 4-1-1 in Snell’s last six starts against the Yankees, is 18-7-2 in his last 27 starts overall and is 5-2-1 in his last eight outings versus the rest of the AL East. The under is also 7-2-1 in Tanaka’s last 10 road starts and is 5-2 in his last seven outings overall.
The Pick: Yankees/Rays UNDER 7
