Angels roll again

Los Angeles won a third consecutive game and second straight in the series Saturday as it prevailed 7-2 at Baltimore.Albert Pujols paced the Angels' offense as he finished 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs and three RBIs. Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Kole Calhoun was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Luke Bard picked up the win in relief as he threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief with three hits allowed and one strikeout. Griffin Canning will start today for the Angels as he comes in with a 1-0 record, 4.66 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 13 strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings.

Orioles drop fourth straight

Baltimore tied it up at 2-2 in the bottom of the first inning Saturday, but proceeded to allow five unanswered runs the rest of the way to fall 7-2. Dwight Smith Jr. went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs in the defeat. Jonathan Villar finished 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Stevie Wilkerson ended the contest 2-for-4. Dylan Bundy suffered the loss as he surrendered three earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks over five innings. John Means will start today as he comes in with a 4-3 record, 2.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with 29 strikeouts over 32 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are 6-0 in their last six AL East games. Los Angeles is 5-1 in its last six road games.

Baltimore

The Orioles are 0-4 in their last four Sunday games. Baltimore is 23-6 in its last 79 home games.

Prediction:

Baltimore sends arguably its best starting pitcher to the mound today as Means has been one of the few positives during another poor season. Meanwhile, Canning is a rookie who will have some hiccups along the way. Even though LA is playing awesome baseball right now, it has benefited from favorable matchups and today's is less favorable. The Angels have been inconsistent all season and I don't see why on a getaway day, they can't lay a dub against Means and the O's.
