According to oddsmakers, the Indians are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -150 to win. The Athletics are listed with a money line of +130 to prevail, while the over/under total is listed at 8 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 75 percent going on the Indians on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Indians fall in 12 innings

Cleveland dropped the series opener on Friday, losing 4-3 to Oakland in 12 innings. The Indians are now 20-17 on the season, 9-10 on the road and 21-15 with the under. Cleveland has Trevor Bauer on the mound to face Oakland today. He is 4-2 on the season with a 3.42 ERA.

The Indians scattered 10 hits in Friday’s loss. Everyone in the starting lineup had a hit while Tyler Naquin was the lone Cleveland batter with multiple hits. On the mound, Cody Anderson got the start, but he lasted only three innings and gave up two runs on three walks and three hits. The Indians had to use eight pitchers in the loss. Brad Hand gave up the home run in the 12th to take a loss.

Athletics win again

Oakland has won three of its last four games following Friday’s extra-inning victory. The A’s are now 18-22 on the season, 13-9 at home and 21-19 with the over. Oakland has Aaron Brooks on the mound today. He is 2-3 on the year with a 5.74 ERA.

The Athletics were able to put an end to the game on Friday thanks to a solo home run from Matt Chapman in the 12th inning. He now has 10 home runs on the season. Chapman was one of two Athletics with multiple hits on Friday. Josh Phegley added three hits. Frankie Montas got the start and went six innings, allowing two runs with seven strikeouts. The bullpen gave up one run over six innings. Joakim Soria got the win with two perfect innings on the mound.

MLB Betting Trends

The Indians are 8-2 in Bauer’s last 10 road starts and 100-49 in their last 149 games against a losing team.

The Athletics have won five straight home games against a team with a winning record and 41 of their last 53 against AL Central opponents.

Brooks has been shaky as of late, giving up at least three runs in his last five starts. Bauer has struggled in his last two starts, giving up 12 runs in 12 innings. He has been a little all-or-nothing this season, having gems or getting blown up. He has struggled with walks at times as well. Given Cleveland had to use eight arms last night, the Indians are going to have to really ride Bauer today, good or bad. Brooks may give up a few runs, but I don’t think he will get blown up by the Cleveland hitters.

MLB Prediction: Oakland Athletics +130
