White Sox win again

Chicago has taken the first two games in this series, winning the opener, 9-1, and following it up with a 2-0 win last night. Chicago is now 16-18 on the season, 8-8 on the road and 20-13 with the over. The White Sox have Reynaldo Lopez on the mound tonight. He is 2-4 on the season with a 6.69 ERA.

The White Sox kept the Cleveland bats silent once again. Lucas Giolito had an outstanding performance. He pitched 7.1 innings, allowing just three hits with eight strikeouts. He is now 3-1 on the season. Alex Colome earned his seventh save by pitching 1.1 perfect innings. Yoan Moncada and James McCann each had RBI singles to drive in the two runs for Chicago in the win.

Indians fall again

Cleveland is in a real struggle at the plate right now. The 2-0 loss on Tuesday was their third straight. They have scored 1 run over their last three games at home. The Indians are now 18-16 on the season, 9-7 at home and 18-15 with the under. Cleveland has Shane Bieber taking the mound tonight. He is 2-1 on the season with a 3.16 ERA.

The Indians were held to just five hits in Tuesday’s loss. All five hits came from the top two in the lineup. Francisco Lindor had three hits while Jason Kipnis had two on Tuesday. Jefry Rodriguez pitched six innings and allowed just two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts. Cleveland’s bullpen pitched three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit.

MLB Betting Trends

Chicago

The White Sox have won four straight AL Central games and five straight road games against a team with a winning home record.

Cleveland

The Indians are 20-7 in their last 27 Wednesday games and 10-4 in Bieber’s last 14 starts.

Prediction:

Bieber has been pretty good on the mound, but he has had two outings where he gave up three runs or more. That is a concern for a team that has produced just one run over three games. Certainly Lopez doesn’t have good numbers, but that may not matter against Cleveland. He has managed some good outings against fellow AL Central teams like Detroit and Kansas City and could get it today. Given Cleveland’s big struggles at the plate, I just can’t trust them as that big of a favorite.

MLB Prediction: Chicago White Sox +180
