The Rangers led put up three runs each in the second and third innings and led 10-1 through six innings en route to the lopsided win. MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 17-36 in their last 53 road games. Texas is 2-5 in the last seven Sampson starts.
Pittsburgh
The Pirates are 4-1 in their last five games overall. Pittsburgh is 7-3 in the last 10 Brault starts.
Prediction:
Pittsburgh has been playing solid baseball and Brault at least has done well in the strikeout category in a limited amount of innings this season. He also has the advantage of being a left-hander against a Texas lineup that is set up to hit righties with more efficiency. Look for the Pirates to touch up Sampson and ride a solid Brault outing to a victory in the opener here.
