Marlins vs. Cubs Tuesday Prediction
The Cubs couldn’t hold onto a one-run lead in the top of the ninth, as the Marlins beat Chicago 6-5 at Wrigley Field. With Jon Lester on the hill, will the Cubs even the series with a victory on Tuesday night?

Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Jon Berti launched his first major-league home run and walked twice in the Marlins’ 6-5 comeback win over the Cubs on Monday. Berti connected on a 90-mph heater from Cubs’ starter Cole Hamels, sending it over the ivy-covered brick wall in left-center field to tie the ballgame at three runs apiece in the sixth inning. He also walked twice in the contest to boost his on-base percentage to .366 through 41 plate appearances. The 29-year-old utility infielder was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans in late-April after slashing .286/.490/.486 with two home runs in 13 games. He played four games with the Blue Jays last season. He’s someone to keep on the radar in NL-Only formats.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Pedro Strop surrendered three runs on one hit and a trio of walks and failed to record an out in an ugly blown save against the Marlins on Monday. Strop melted down in spectacular fashion and was charged with his second blown save and a loss in this one. He was summoned to protect a one-run lead in the top of the ninth inning and couldn't find the plate. He issued back-to-back walks to Curtis Granderson and Jon Berti to open the frame before giving up a base hit to Neil Walker to load the bases. He was lifted after walking the ensuing batter Rosell Herrera to bring home the tying run. He was charged with a pair of additional runs on a pair of ground outs after lefty Kyle Ryan came in to clean up the bases-loaded mess. Strop remains the favorite to close in Chicago moving forward, but this was an extremely shaky performance, which balloons his ERA from 2.53 to 5.06 this season.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 16-36 in their last 51 games overall.
Milwaukee
The Cubs have won 62 of Lester’s last 91 starts.
Prediction:
Smith is having a solid season for the Marlins but I can’t see this weak-hitting Miami team beating the Cubs twice in a row at Wrigley Field. Not with the Cubs sitting at 37-14 in Lester’s last 51 home starts and 41-11 in his last 52 outings versus an opponent with a losing record. Despite winning on Monday night, the Marlins are just 1-6 in their last seven games versus the Cardinals and are 4-13 in their last 17 games at Wrigley Field.
The Pick: Chicago Cubs -1.5
