Max Scherzer will toe the rubber for a banged-up Nationals team on Monday night when Washington opens a new series with the Brewers at 7:40 p.m. ET. Is the under the best bet on the board given that Scherzer will start for the Nats?

Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Kurt Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Phillies. Suzuki connected for a solo home run off Zach Eflin with one out in the fourth inning. The tater was his fifth of the campaign and bumped his RBI total up to 14 over the course of 18 games played. He is working to a .298/.339/.596 triple-slash in addition. With his home run on Sunday, Suzuki has now gone yard in three consecutive contests.
Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Brewers' manager Craig Counsell said that Lorenzo Cain (hand) will be held out of the team's starting lineup on Monday. Cain was diagnosed with a left hand contusion after being hit by a pitch on Sunday. They're holding him out as a precautionary measure and Counsell said he expects Cain to return to the lineup on Tuesday.
MLB Betting Trends
Washington
The Nationals are just 2-5 in their last seven games versus the Brewers.
Milwaukee
The Brewers have won five of their last seven games against the Nationals at Miller Park.
Prediction:
I try not to make it a habit of taking the under in games played at Miller Park, especially when the total is only 7.5. That said, Scherzer will face a Milwaukee lineup that won’t have Cain hitting at the top and the Nationals are incredibly banged-up offensively themselves. Plus, the Brewers couldn’t generate much offense against the Mets at home over the weekend despite facing the likes of Jason Vargas on Sunday. There offense has cooled off significantly following a hot start to the year. The under is 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings between the Brewers and Nationals at Miller Park.
The Pick: Nationals/Brewers UNDER 7.5
