Royals fall on walk-off blast

Kansas City surrendered a three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning Sunday afternoon in a 5-2 loss at Detroit. Ian Kennedy took the loss on the mound as he surrendered three earned runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking none. Ryan O'Hearn helped pace the Royals offense by going 3-for-4. Hunter Dozier was 1-for-4 with a solo home run plus a walk. Jorge Soler was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk. Jake Junis will start tonight as he enters with a 3-2 record, 5.12 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with 34 strikeouts over 38 2/3 innings. 

Astros cruise past Angels

Houston rolled to a 10-4 victory Sunday afternoon in Mexico over the Angels to improve to 20-14 overall and 10-11 on the road. Alex Bregman gave the Astros the lead for good with a grand slam in the top of the fifth inning. Bregman finished the contest 2-for-5 with the home run and two RBIs. George Springer was 2-for-5 and scored two runs. Michael Brantley ended the game 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Carlos Correa was 1-for-4 with a walk, a run and two RBIs. Justin Verlander picked up the win as he allowed four earned runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven and walking one. Cole draws tonight's start as he comes in with a 2-4 record, 3.95 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with 65 strikeouts over 43 1/3 innings.
