Diamondbacks rolling

Arizona is on a four-game winning streak right now after picking up a 9-2 win on Saturday. They have put up 19 runs in the first two games of this series. The Diamondbacks are now 20-13 on the season, 13-6 on the road and 17-14 with the over. The D’Backs have Zack Greinke on the mound today. He is 5-1 on the season with a 3.27 ERA.

The Diamondbacks compiled 12 hits and put up seven runs over the first three innings on Saturday to help them get the win. They had three home runs and three doubles as a team as well. David Peralta led the way with two hits and three RBI while hitting his fifth home run of the season. The 4-8 spots in the lineup each had two hits and drove in eight of the nine runs. With all the run support, Luke Weaver shined. He pitched seven innings and struck out eight to get his third win of the year.

Rockies drop first two in series

The Rockies had their bats come up short on Saturday. After scoring 31 runs in three games, they had just two last night in a 9-2 loss at home. Colorado is now 15-19 on the season, 5-9 at home and 16-16 with the over/under total. German Marquez gets the start for the Rockies today. He is 3-2 on the season with a 2.93 ERA.

Colorado wasn’t able to get out of the gates as Kyle Freeland gave up eight runs over six innings of work to fall to 2-5 on the season. The bats went quiet as well, with the team finishing the game with just five hits. The top of the order performed well as both Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story had two hits and drove in a run.

MLB Betting Trends

Arizona

The Diamondbacks have won six straight road games and seven of their last eight following a win.

Colorado

The Rockies are 5-15 in their last 20 games following a loss and 3-9 in their last 12 division games.

Prediction:

Greinke has really been locked in over the last few weeks. Over his last three starts, he has pitched 20.2 innings and allowed just one run with 18 strikeouts and four walks. Marquez started really well, but has given up multiple runs in three straight starts. Given the hot streak Arizona is on right now, I like Greinke to get the run support and bullpen help that Marquez won’t. The Diamondbacks are playing really strong baseball right now and I am going to ride them while they are hot.

MLB Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks +115
