According to oddsmakers, the Rangers are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -130 to win. The Blue Jays are listed with a money line of +110 to win, while the over/under total for the contest is set at 10 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 63 percent going on the Blue Jays on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Blue Jays win 1-0

Toronto picked up a 1-0 win in 12 innings over the Rangers in the series opener on Friday at Texas. The Jays are now 15-17 on the season, 8-9 on the road and 20-12 with the under. The Blue Jays send Thomas Pannone to the mound this evening. He is 1-2 on the season with a 5.40 ERA.

The Blue Jays would have been kicking themselves if they lost on Friday. They had 11 hits in the game, but could only manage one run. Even then, it took a Texas error for Toronto to get the actual run in the top of the 12th. Trent Thornton pitched seven scoreless innings for the Jays, giving up just one hit with five strikeouts. The bullpen then added five scoreless innings.

Rangers drop third straight

Texas continued its plunge on Friday in the 1-0 loss to Toronto. The Rangers have lost three straight and eight of their last 10. The Rangers are now 14-16 on the season, 10-7 at home and 17-12 with the over. Texas has Lance Lynn getting the start tonight. He is 3-2 on the season with a 5.45 ERA.

The Rangers wasted a great start from Mike Minor on Friday. He went eight innings and had nine strikeouts while giving up no runs and seven hits. The Texas bullpen was strong as well, pitching four innings without an earned run allowed. The Rangers managed just four hits as a team in the loss.

MLB Betting Trends

Toronto

The Blue Jays are 8-3 in their last 11 against AL West opponents and 4-1 in Pannone’s last five starts.

Texas

The Rangers are 0-6 in their last six against AL East opponents and 1-6 in their last seven following a loss.

Prediction:

Pannone has made just one start this season, but he has 10 appearances and has some pretty good stats outside of a few poor showings. Lynn has been hot and cold. He has four really good starts, but two absolute bombs. The problem for Lynn is that the Rangers have hit a speed bump at the plate. Toronto only had one run last night, but they had many more scoring opportunities. I think those opportunities will lead to more runs tonight.

MLB Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays +110
