Red Sox bounce back

Boston bounced back from a 6-4 loss at Chicago on Thursday with a 6-1 win on Friday. The Red Sox are now 15-18 overall, 7-11 on the road and 18-14 with the over, Eduardo Rodriguez gets the start for Boston tonight. He is 2-2 on the season with a 6.16 ERA.

The Red Sox started quickly on Friday, putting up three runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back. Chris Sale finally looked like himself again, striking out 10 in six scoreless innings while giving up just three hits to Chicago. He got his first win of the year. Rafael Devers had a three-run home run in the first inning while Michael Chavis drove in a pair of runs.

White Sox fall short

Chicago suffered just its second loss in its last seven games on Friday in a 6-1 loss at home to Boston. Chicago is now 14-16 on the season, 8-8 at home and 17-12 with the over. The White Sox have Manny Banuelos on the mound tonight. He is 2-0 on the season with a 2.70 ERA.

The White Sox were held to just one run on five hits on Friday. Reynaldo Lopez gave up six runs over five innings to fall to 2-4 on the season. Chicago got its lone run driven in by James McCann, who was the only Chicago player with multiple hits in Friday’s loss.

MLB Betting Trends

Boston

The Red Sox are 1-5 in their last six games against a left-handed starter and 2-8 in their last 10 Saturday games.

Chicago

The White Sox are 5-2 in their last seven home games, but 4-10 in their last 14 games after scoring two runs or less in their previous game.

Prediction:

Rodriguez has struggled, but Boston has won four straight starts from him. Banuelos has been mostly in relief this year, but he has been pretty solid on the mound for Chicago. However, the White Sox showed that they can struggle at the plate and Boston definitely has the hitting potential that Chicago doesn’t. The White Sox have a really poor bottom of the order, while Boston has solid hitters all the way around that just haven’t hit their stride this season. I will go with the Red Sox today, as I feel their value has dipped a little bit for this game, but I believe in their lineup more.

MLB Prediction: Boston Red Sox -185
