Arizona wins third straight

The Diamondbacks have won three straight games following a 10-9 win at Colorado on Friday. They have won their last two games by one run. Arizona is now 19-13 on the season, 12-6 on the road and 16-14 with the over. The D’Backs have Luke Weaver on the mound tonight. He is 2-1 on the season with a 3.73 ERA.

Robbie Ray actually pitched pretty well considering the score last night. He went 5.2 innings and had seven strikeouts while allowing five runs, but just one was earned. He picked up his second win of the season while Greg Holland got his eighth save despite giving up a run in the ninth. Ketel Marte had two home runs in the win and drove in four runs. He now has nine home runs for the season. Both Adams Jones and Eduardo Escobar each had three hits for Arizona as well, including a home run each.

Rockies putting up runs

Colorado returned home from a long road trip on Friday, but suffered a 10-9 loss to Arizona. The Rockies have scored 31 runs over their last three games. Colorado is now 15-18 on the season, 5-8 at home and 16-15 with the under. Kyle Freeland gets the start on the mound tonight. He is 2-1 on the season with a 4.81 ERA.

Tyler Anderson didn’t have much of a long outing, giving up six runs over four innings. He took the loss to fall to 0-3 on the season and he has an 11.76 ERA. At the plate, Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon each homered in the loss for the Rockies, each driving in two runs in the process.

MLB Betting Trends

Arizona

The Diamondbacks have won their last five road games and four of their last five against a left-handed starter.

Colorado

The Rockies are 14-2 in Freeland’s last 16 home starts and 9-1 in his last 10 home starts against a winning team.

Prediction:

The two pitchers are somewhat comparable, though Weaver has the much better ERA. The issue with Freeland has been a lack of run support in three of his four losses. Colorado hasn’t been consistent at the plate while Arizona has been able to hit the ball pretty well. The Diamondbacks are looking like an early NL playoff contender and I am going to take my chances on them tonight.

MLB Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks +110
