Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Walker Buehler was charged with three runs in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Cubs. Buehler had a shutout going until the sixth, when Javier Baez spoiled his night by hitting a three-run homer with two outs. It's the third time in five starts that Buehler has been undone by one bad inning. It might be partly bad luck, but it's also a problem that he hasn't been able to get strikeouts when he's needed to. He has just 18 K's in 24 innings this year, which is well off from last year's rate (151 K's in 137 1/3 IP).
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Drew Pomeranz gave up just two hits over six scoreless innings Wednesday in the Giants’ win over the visiting Blue Jays. The victory was his first of 2019. Pomeranz tallied five strikeouts and two walks while throwing 53 of his 87 pitches for strikes. The left-hander bested Clay Buchholz in a battle of former Red Sox starters, taking a perfect game into the fifth before finally yielding a one-out walk to Rowdy Tellez. The two hits he allowed were both singles. Coming off a frustrating 2018 campaign in Boston, the former All-Star has benefited from a change of scenery, compiling a steady 3.65 ERA over five starts for the Giants. The veteran will square off against the division-rival Dodgers in his next start Tuesday at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 7-1 in their last eight games versus the Giants.
San Francisco
The Giants have lost 39 of their last 55 games overall.
Prediction:
Buehler should have no problem facing this crap Giants lineup that offers no power and limited run potential. The under is 10-4-1 in Buehler’s last 15 starts and is 6-1-1 in his last eight outings versus NL West rivals. On the other side, the under is a perfect 5-0 in Pomeranz’s last five starts overall. He has pitched well and I expect him to pitch well again as the Giants lose another low-scoring game.
The Pick: Dodgers/Giants UNDER 7
