San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Fernando Tatis Jr. doubled and stole a base Wednesday in the Padres’ win over Seattle. Pitching reigned supreme Wednesday in San Diego but that didn’t stop Tatis from supplying a third-inning double off Felix Hernandez. He also reached on an eighth-inning fielder’s choice and stole second for his fifth theft of 2019. The 20-year-old has been as good as advertised, impressing with a .299 average to go with six homers and 13 RBI in the early going.
Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Juan Soto bombed his fourth homer of 2019 Wednesday in Washington’s loss to the Rockies. Soto staked the Nats to an early 3-0 lead in the third by drilling a two-run shot off German Marquez but was hitless with a walk in his other four plate appearances. It’s been an uneven start for the 20-year-old phenom, who has hit an underwhelming .241 through 83 at-bats in his sophomore campaign. On the plus side, he’s on pace for over 100 RBI and is currently tied for second in the majors with 18 walks. Translation: he’ll be fine.
