Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Ozzie Albies led off the game with a home run and scored twice in a 3-1 victory over the Reds on Wednesday. He thumped Tanner Roark's first pitch of the game over the wall in right field. He also walked twice in the game and scored a second run on a Nick Markakis knock in the fifth inning. The 22-year-old second baseman is slashing .276/.343/.429 with three home runs, eight RBI and 18 runs scored at the top of the Braves' batting order. He has stolen three bases in five tries.
Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Jesse Winker went 2-for-4 and drove in a run as his team fell to the Braves on Wednesday. He laced a single to center that plated Joey Votto in the first inning. Winker appeared to sprain his ankle while running the bases in the third inning but was able to finish out the game. The young outfielder started off the season in a terrible slump but has been hitting quite well for the last 10 days or so. He has six home runs this year, which is one away from his career high of seven. If he can add power to his already proven talent for getting on base then he could quickly develop into an upper tier fantasy outfielder. His .405 on-base percentage last year would have ranked fourth in the majors if he had played enough to qualify.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are just 1-5 in their last six games played on Thursday.
Cincinnati
The Reds are just 3-7 in Luis Castillo’s last 10 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance.
Prediction:
Castillo is quietly becoming one of the better young starters in the game and the Reds’ money line odds are reasonably priced with him on the mound on Thursday night. Cincinnati has won 11 of his last 15 starts at home and is 5-2 in his last seven starts coming off four days of rest.
The Pick: Cincinnati Reds -145
