Jesse Winker homered twice and walked twice Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks. Winker would probably have more fantasy value batting third or fourth than he does as a leadoff man, but he's crushing it so far; he's batting .373 with three homers and 11 runs scored in 51 at-bats. In the past, he's struggled to score runs from the top of the Reds' lineup, in part because he's not really an asset in the basepaths. This year, though, the guys hitting below him have done a great job of knocking him in.

Kwang-Hyun Kim allowed three runs on five hits and a walk over three innings Saturday, taking a no-decision vs the Phillies. Kim was likely held back in his return outing due to ramp-up concerns, which included a 30-pitch opening inning. The Phillies were easily turning on the left-handers inside fastball which averaged just 88.5 miles per hour Saturday, down 1.4 mph from last season. The important thing for the Cardinals is that Kim is back and healthy, even if they have yet to have a pitcher other than Jack Flaherty complete six innings this season. The 32-year-old will look to go deeper into his next start which will be next weekend against the Reds at home.
