Chicago White Sox Fantasy Spin
Jose Abreu went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI as the White Sox defeated the Tigers on Friday evening. Abreu delivered a two-run double during a five-run uprising in the seventh inning that put the game out of reach. He's off to a slow start at the dish this season, slashing just .189/.274/.365 with three homers and 12 RBI.
Detroit Tigers Fantasy Spin
Josh Harrison clubbed his first home run as a member of the Tigers in Friday night's loss to the White Sox. Harrison tagged White Sox' left-hander Carlos Rodon for the solo blast in the third inning, tying the game at 1-1. It was hit lone hit in four at-bats on the night. He's off to an absolutely miserable start to the 2019 season, slashing an anemic .129/.205/.200 with three RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox are 9-19 in their last 28 games overall.
Detroit
The Tigers have won six of Matt Boyd’s last seven home starts.
Prediction:
Both of today’s starters have flashed upside this season and both have struggled. Lopez is coming off a good start against the Royals but was shelled by the Rays (eight runs) and Mariners (six runs) in his previous outings before holding Kansas City to one run. Norris, meanwhile, has strikeout potential but he’s prone to allowing home runs. To be honest, I could see this game being 3-2 just as easily as I could see the combined final score landing in double-digits. That said, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings so I’m more inclined to trust the hitters in this matchup than the pitchers.
The Pick: White Sox/Tigers OVER 9.5
