Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Christian Walker singled twice and stole a base in Friday's loss to the Cubs. The Diamondbacks managed just seven hits in this one and didn't score until a garbage time run in the ninth. However, Walker still managed his fourth multi-hit game in his last five tries. That he's now 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts is interesting. He had one steal in 61 major league games prior to this season and never stole more than five bases in the minors.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Kris Bryant reached base three times and drove in a pair of runs in the Cubs' win over the Diamondbacks on Friday. Bryant's two-RBI "double" in the second inning deserves a huge asterisk, though. The wind was howling at Wrigley Field and four fielders were unable to handle Bryant's pop-up with the bases loaded even though it landed just 30 feet or so beyond where the second baseman is normally positioned. His fantasy owners will take it, though.
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are 4-1 in Zack Greinke’s last five starts.
Chicago
The Cubs are a perfect 4-0 in their last four games.
Prediction:
With the wind blowing in hard from left field, the under cashed yesterday at Wrigley. Heavy winds are expected again today but here’s the problem: Both Greinke and Yu Darvish have not pitched well at Wrigley. Greinke is 0-2 with an 8.31 ERA in five career starts at Wrigley, while Darvish owns a 5.48 ERA in five outings at the “friendly confines.” Thus, despite the wind factor, I actually see value in the over seeing as how the total for this game is so low.
