Matt Carpenter went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts on Sunday in the Cardinals' shutout loss to the Phillies. Carpenter struck out in all three of his plate appearances versus Phillies' ace Aaron Nola before being lifted from the contest in the seventh inning. The 35-year-old veteran infielder has been mired in a disastrous 2-for-29 (.069) slump at the plate to open the 2021 campaign. It will be interesting to see how much longer the Cardinals continue to give him regular at-bats to try to break out of the tailspin, before they're forced to turn to some of their younger alternatives within the organization.

Washington Nationals DFS SPIN

Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with a stolen base on Saturday in the Nationals' win over the Diamondbacks. Turner notched a season-high three hits, and also swiped his third base of the season. The 27-year-old speedster has been re-inserted atop the Nationals' lineup recently and appears primed for another potential 30-steal campaign. He's hitting .292/.346/.479 with two runs scored, two homers, five RBI and three steals in 52 plate appearances.
