Blue Jays vs. Red Sox Prediction
The Red Sox are off to a horrendous start to the new season and their pitching is largely to blame. With that in mind, is the over a good bet Thursday night when Boston hosts the Toronto Blue Jays again at 7:10 p.m. ET?

Toronto Blue Jays Fantasy Spin
MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reports that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (oblique) is headed to Triple-A Buffalo. The 20-year-old top third base prospect went 4-for-15 during a four-game rehab stint with High-A Dunedin and will now settle in for maybe a two-week stay at the Triple-A level. Vlad Jr. is recovered from the left oblique strain he suffered back in early March and could very well make his major league debut before the end of April. He needs to be stashed in all standard fantasy leagues.
Boston Red Sox Fantasy Spin
Mookie Betts hit his third home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. It was a sixth-inning solo shot off Toronto starter Matt Shoemaker. Betts had the opportunity to be a hero as the last man up with two runners on in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Jays closer Ken Giles struck him out with a nasty slider and the Red Sox lost their home opener by a score of 7-5.
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays have dropped six of seven on the road, although they did take Game 1 of this series on Tuesday.
Boston
The Red Sox have dropped eight of their last 10 games but are 4-0 in Nathan Eovaldi’s last four starts.
Prediction:
The over is 5-0-1 in Eovaldi’s last six starts overall and is 4-1-1 in his last six outings against divisional opponents. With how poorly Boston’s pitching has been to start the year, bettors might as well keep riding the over in Red Sox games. Granted, Toronto has been dreadful offensively to start the season but even the Blue Jays racked up seven runs at Fenway on Monday afternoon and it was a game in which Chris Sale started. Even the Blue Jays are crossing home plate against Boston.
