Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
David Dahl (core) said he expects to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible. That would be April 18. Dahl was placed on the injured list Tuesday after tweaking something in his left side on a swing against Dodgers southpaw Julio Urias on Sunday night. He told reporters that it should only really be a five-day injury, but the Rockies couldn't play a man short for that long. Yonathan Daza will probably be sent back down to Triple-A Albuquerque when Dahl is ready.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Kevin Pillar went 1-for-4 with with a homer in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday. Kevin Pillar: power hitter. It's the second homer in a Giants' uniform for Pillar, who took Nick Margevicius deep in the second inning. Even with the two homers, Pillar is hitting just .140/.133/.302 to begin his 2019 season.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are 1-4 in Jon Gray’s last five starts.
San Francisco
The Giants are 3-13 in Jeff Samardzija’s last 16 starts and are 2-5 in his last seven home outings.
Prediction:
At some point, I expect the Rockies to figure things out and get into contention for at least a wild card in the National League. They’re too talented to continue to play this poorly. The Giants, however, are a shell of their former selves and are at the beginning of a organizational rebuild. They’re also 1-6 in Samardzija’s last seven starts versus the Rockies and are 1-4 in his last five home outings against Colorado. I’m going to fade the Giants as much as possible this year and the price is right on the Rockies tonight.
The Pick: Colorado Rockies -115
