Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Jurickson Profar went 4-for-5 with a home run, five RBI and three runs scored in the Athletics' win over the Orioles on Tuesday. Now that's how you bust out of a slump. Profar entered this one with an embarrassing .120/.170/.180 batting line but nearly doubled his season hit total in one night with three singles and his first A's home run. The A's banged out 14 hits and 13 runs to break a four-game losing streak.
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Dwight Smith Jr. singled twice, scored a run a stole a base Tuesday versus the Athletics. Both hits came off of left-hander Brett Anderson, as the left-handed swinging Smith is now 7-for-16 against southpaws this season. Unfortunately, he's done very little versus right-handers (5-for-26).
MLB Betting Trends
Oakland
The A’s are 5-2 in Frankie Montas’ last seven road starts.
Baltimore
The Orioles have dropped 45 of their last 64 games at Oriole Park.
Prediction:
The first two games of this series went over and there’s little reason to believe tonight’s matchup won’t produce a lot of runs. This ballpark is hitter-friendly and the ball was flying out of the yard the past two nights. Montas has some upside but his 3.67 ERA doesn’t match his 4.61 SIERA (suggesting regression) and he doesn’t strike out a lot of batters (16.5% strikeout rate). Meanwhile, this A’s team continues to mash, cashing the over in 10 of their last 14 road games (with one push) and in five of their last seven games overall.
The Pick: A’s/Orioles OVER 9.5
