Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin
Brad Miller popped a two-run home run and scored three runs Tuesday in the Indians' win over the Tigers. Leonys Martin, Roberto Perez and Jake Bauers also went deep for the Tribe. Miller filled up the stat sheet in this one, as he also doubled, walked and stole his first base since 2017. He entered the game hitless over his last five contests, as he hasn't done much at all as Jason Kipnis' (calf) replacement. Kipnis is expected back this week.
Detroit Tigers Fantasy Spin
Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in Tuesday's loss to the Indians. Cabrera followed Nicholas Castellanos' single to lead off the fifth inning with a two-bagger to center to plate the Tigers' second run. Amazingly, it was the first extra-base hit of the season for the future Hall of Famer. Cabrera is getting on base plenty and is hitting the ball hard, but his groundball rate is way up and it's obviously hard to get extra-base hits that way.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians are 4-1 in their last five road games against the Tigers and are 44-17 in their last 61 games versus Detroit overall.
Detroit
The Tigers have won five straight home games when Matt Boyd starts and are 5-2 in his last seven outings overall.
Prediction:
The best value on the board is with the Tribe’s runline, which has odds of +115. The Indians covered the spread yesterday in their blowout victory over the Tigers and with Bauer on the mound this afternoon, there’s no reason to believe Cleveland won’t roll again today. The Indians are 4-0 in Bauer’s last four starts versus the Tigers, who are just 1-5 in Boyd’s last six outings versus the Indians. When healthy, Bauer has proven to be the best pitcher in Cleveland’s starting rotation over the past year, yes, even better than Kluber.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -1.5 (+115)
