New York Yankees Fantasy Spin

Clint Frazier went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, two-run home run and four total RBI in Sunday's 15-3 demolition of the Orioles. Frazier had himself a moment in the sun on Saturday, whacking a go-ahead pinch-hit three-run home run in the eighth inning. He kept it going and then some in the series finale, launching a solo dinger to center in the second inning and picking up an RBI single in the sixth before capping off his big day with two-run tater in the ninth inning. Frazier has always had power, but this is the first time we've seen it in such a concentrated span at the big league level. He is no sure bet for playing time moving forward, but makes for an intriguing fantasy flier in deeper formats given this sudden eruption of offense.

Houston Astros Fantasy Spin

Jose Altuve went 3-for-4 with a pair of walks, including the game-winning walk-off walk in the ninth, to help the Astros outlast the Athletics 9-8 on Sunday. Sure, Altuve reached base five times including knocking three singles, and yeah, he scored two runs of his own as well, but it was shrimp time in the ninth inning that grabbed headlines after usually lights-out closer Blake Treinen issued his fourth walk of the game to Altuve to force in the winning run. After a relatively quiet start, the diminutive second baseman has heated up in recent days with three multi-hit games in his last four contests. The hot stretch has his line up to .282/.349/.410, numbers sure to continue to rise as Altuve continues to find his stroke.

MLB Betting Trends

New York

The Yankees are 5-1 in their last six games versus the Astros.

Houston

The Astros have won seven of their last 10 home games against the Yankees and are 5-2 in their last seven games versus New York when Masahiro Tanaka starts for the Bombers.

Prediction:

The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Houston and is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings overall. The under is also 4-1 in the Astros’ last five games when Justin Verlander starts Game 1 of a series and is 9-2 in their last 11 games overall. Finally, the under is 5-1-1 in Tanaka’s last seven road starts. I expect both starters to pitch well tonight.

The Pick: Yankees/Astros UNDER 7.5
