Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Clayton Kershaw could rejoin the Dodgers' rotation next Sunday against the Brewers. Kershaw will make a second minor league rehab start, either with Triple-A Oklahoma City or Double-A Tulsa, on Tuesday. If all goes well there, he'll be cleared to return to the Dodgers' rotation and would be on regular rest for Sunday's start. For those in weekly leagues, it's probably best to leave the left-hander on the pine for that first start, in the event that he sees a limited pitch count, or plans change during the week.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Paul DeJong hit a two-run double in Sunday's win over the Padres. DeJong's hit proved to be the biggest of the afternoon, eluding left fielder Hunter Renfroe and bounding all the way to the wall to give the Cardinals the lead in the fourth inning. DeJong now has three homers and seven RBI in the early days of the season. He's been hitting in a prime spot in the Cards' lineup between Paul Goldschmidt and Marcell Ozuna and should continue to find himself in run-producing situations all year if the alignment holds.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 7-3 in their last 10 games at Busch Stadium.
St. Louis
The Cardinals have beaten the Dodgers four straight times when Hyun-Jin Ryu starts for L.A.
Prediction:
The brutal travel schedule could impact the Dodgers but they’re still worth a play tonight against the Cards. Miles Mikolas has struggled out of the gates, allowing five runs on five hits over five innings in a loss to the Brewers on Opening Day, then surrendering three runs on seven hits over five innings in a no-decision in Pittsburgh. Road weary or not, the Dodgers should jump on Mikolas and at -125, this is about as inexpensive as we’ll see a red-hot L.A. team. Might as well take advantage with how sluggish the Cardinals have gotten out of the gates.
The Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -125
