Ian Anderson gave up three homers in his third inning of work Monday and ended up being removed after allowing four runs in 2 2/3 innings versus the Red Sox. Kiké Hernandez, J.D. Martinez and Marwin Gonzalez all homered in a five-batter span to knock Anderson out of the game. Anderson had given up two homers in 15 2/3 innings coming into this one. He was pretty lucky in that department after his callup last season, surrendering just one homer in 32 1/3 innings over the course of his six starts. He's not going to be so fortunate again, but he should turn out to be a fine starting pitcher anyway.

Philadelphia Phillies DFS SPIN

Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Saturday's win over the Braves. The effort was hardly needed as Zack Wheeler provided himself with all of the run support he would need this afternoon, but it was great to see Hoskins smash his second double of the year. The on-base skills of the 28-year-old landed him in the second spot of the Phillies order regardless of how poorly he performed during spring training, so it's good to see some early results. Hoskins is currently 2-for-9 so far during the first week of the 2021 campaign.

The Braves are now 1-5 in their last six meetings with the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park and are 1-5 in their last six games versus Philadelphia overall. The Braves are also winless in their last four road games and in their last five games versus a right-handed starter. On the other side, the Phillies have won four of their last five home games and are 5-2 in their last seven games as a home dog.
