Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Ian Desmond went 0-for-4 on Monday and is 2-for-17 through four games. Desmond's strong spring has probably left him with a longer leash than he deserves, but then, because of his contract, the Rockies might stick with him far longer than anyone would recommend anyway. He's still definitely worth using in mixed leagues for as long as he plays regularly.
Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Kevin Kiermaier had a three-run homer, a double and a sac fly as the Rays defeated the Rockies 7-1 on Monday. Frequently a leadoff man in the past, Kiermaier has never driven in more than 40 runs in a season. He's up to five RBI in four games this year, though. He'd be a more intriguing in mixed leagues hitting closer to the top of the Rays order, but he's going to have to earn his way back after finishing at .217/.282/.370 in his 88 games last year.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
Following their loss last night, the Rockies are just 1-4 in their last five games versus the Rays and are winless in their last four contests at Tropicana Field.
Tampa Bay
The Rays have won 16 of Snell’s last 21 home starts and are 22-8 in his last 30 outings overall.
Prediction:
This game should live up to its hype as a pitcher’s duel. Snell has struck out both right and left-handed hitters at a 30% clip and Freeland does a great job with inducing ground balls. The under is 5-2-1 in Snell’s last eight home starts and is 18-7-2 in his last 27 outings overall, while the under is 43-17-3 in Freeland’s last 63 starts.
The Pick: Rockies/Rays under 7
