Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Jesus Sucre went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored to lead his team over the Yankees 5-3 on Saturday. He drove in a run with a single in the seventh inning, then plated Cedric Mullins and Joey Rickard with a double in the ninth. Sucre will split time behind the plate with Pedro Severino this year, at least until youngster Chance Sisco is ready to take over the gig. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect many days like this from Sucre, who owns a weak .221/.258/.306 slash line in 227 career games.
New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Troy Tulowitzki clubbed his first home run in a Yankee uniform in a losing cause against the Orioles on Saturday. He went 1-for-2 and added a pair of walks on the afternoon while batting in the number eight slot in the order. He went deep in the ninth inning off reliever Richard Bleier but it didn't matter much as New York trailed by four runs at the time. Tulo is expected to get regular playing time in the early part of the season in the absence of the injured Didi Gregorius (elbow).
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are 0-4 in Dylan Bundy’s last four starts versus the Yankees.
New York
The Yankees are 5-2 in J.A. Happ’s last seven home starts and are 9-3 in his last 12 outings overall.
Prediction:
Bundy really struggled with the long ball last year, allowing a major league-high 41 home runs after making a career-high 31 starts a year ago. He was just 2-7 and own a 7.11 ERA in 13 starts after the All-Star Break so he enters 2019 in poor form. He’s also just 2-5 with a 6.18 ERA in nine career games (seven starts) versus the Yankees. After a quiet day yesterday for the Bombers’ offense, I like the Yankees to bounce back this afternoon and win by multiple runs.
The Pick: New York Yankees -1.5 (-165)
