Rockies Win Total Prediction for 2020
With all of the drama circulating around superstar Nolan Arenado, will the Rockies fall short of their current win total of 74?
MLB Win Total Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com, the Rockies’ win total currently sits at 74. The juice is shaded more towards the under at 10/13, while the odds for the over are currently 1/1.
Rockies Offseason Moves
The Rockies didn’t make any moves, which is why Arenado is pissed. Signed to a massive eight-year, $260 million contract extension in February of 2019, the Rockies allocated most of their budget to Arenado. This past offseason, Colorado’s front office sat on its hands outside of signing pitcher Jose Mujica to a major league deal. Mujica was the only player the Rockies signed to a major league deal. Hence, Arenado’s frustration, which has reportedly boiled over to the point where the star wants to be traded. We’ll see if the Rockies fulfill his request by the trade deadline.
Rockies Win Total Prediction
There’s not a ton to love about the Rockies heading into the 2020 season…and Arenado is still on their roster. What happens if they deal their disgruntled star at some point? Arenado, Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon are the only three players that can hit consistently. David Dahl is usually hurt, Ian Desmond was a bad contract and Tony Wolters won’t strike fear into many opposing pitchers. Speaking of pitching, their rotation isn’t as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. Jon Gray is coming off a good season, German Marquez has plenty of talent and Kyle Freeland still has some upside as well, even though he’s coming off a rough season. The biggest issue is their bullpen, which will cost them plenty of games throughout the season. And if Arenado gets dealt, this offense will go from average to potentially dreadful.
