Woods held the top spot in the world rankings for 281 weeks, dating back to 2005, before Westwood earned the honor last weekend. Now, Woods is favored to win this week’s event according to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com. Woods has 7/1 odds to win while Westwood has 16/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Phil Mickelson (10/1) and Martin Kaymer (16/1).

Woods has finished runner up in this event two times in its five years of existence, but never won. Woods hasn’t played in a tournament since the BMW Championship. He is winless in 2010, and finished in the top 10 in just two of 12 events.

Westwood has won one event this year and finished in the top 10 in nine events in 2010. Westwood finished runner up in this event in 2007.

Mickelson is a two-time winner of this event, taking the title in 2007 and 2009. Mickelson has finished in the top 10 in six events this year.

Kaymer has been the hottest golfer in the world, winning three of his last four events. Kaymer has four wins in 2010 to go along with nine top 10’s.
