ATLANTA, GA (ATS Consultants) - The PGA TOUR travels to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga. for the TOUR Championship.

The PGA Tour season comes to a close this weekend in Atlanta.  Based on a system of accumulated points throughout 2012, the top 30 golfers will tee it up, starting Thursday, for a chance to win the year's final tourney and $1.4 million. The overall points leader after the Tour Championship is completed will take home the FedEx Cup and a $10 million prize.

Rory McIlroy comes into the championship rated No. 1 in the world, especially based on his play over the last month. He won the PGA Championship in August and both the Deutsche Bank and BMW Championships, two of the four season-ending tournaments that make up the FedEx playoffs.

Phil Mickelson 12-1

Whenever you think he might be on the downside, Lefty shows he still has gas left in the tank. Since missing the cut at the Open Championship, Phil is back on form. He has two straight top-5s (T-4 and T-2) including weekends of 8 under and 10 under. This is a course he has won on twice and has had five top-10s. Dustin Johnson 12-1

He's had playoff finishes of T3, T4 and T6. The long-hitting 28-year old may be the best player under 30 not named Rory. He's due to break through. According to online sports book Bovada.lv, Johnson has odds of 12/1 to win the 2012 Tour Championship.

Bo Van Pelt 30-1

He's consistently in the top 10. In fact, he's got nine top-10s this year, which is the second-most on the tour. He also has 15 top-25s in 19 cuts made. This the third year in a row that he has made the final 30. He had a ninth-place finish last year here.
