2014 PGA Championship Odds: McIlroy Favored Entering Final Round

LOUISVILLE, KY (TheSpread) – Rory McIlroy closed the third round of the PGA Championship on a strong note to maintain his lead entering Sunday’s final round.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, McIlroy now has 8/13 odds to win the PGA Championship while Rickie Fowler (5/1), Phil Mickelson (10/1), Jason Day (12/1) and Bernd Wiesberger (14/1) are also in contention.

McIlroy shot a 4-under 67 on Saturday to get to -13 for the tournament. It was his second straight 67 and he birdied three of the final four holes to finish with a one-shot lead over Wiesberger. At one point there was a five-way tie for first at -10 before McIlroy heated up.

Fowler is alone in third place at -11 overall after shooting a 4-under 67. Fowler had a bogey free round and is looking to finish in the top 5 in all four majors this year.

Mickelson is at -10 for the tournament after posting a 4-under 67 on Saturday. Mickelson finished his round with birdies in four of his last five holes to get in the mix.

Day is tied with Mickelson at -10 overall. He shot just a 2-under 69 on Saturday. Day was tied for the lead at one point, but couldn’t string together birdies to hang with McIlroy late.

Wiesberger carded a 6-under 65 on Saturday to get to -12 for the tournament. He had a bogey free round and hit some tremendous approach shots down the stretch, finishing his round with three tap-in birdies. His previous best finish in a major was a tie for 64^th.
