2014 PGA Championship Odds To Win: McIlroy Favored After First Round

LOUISVILLE, KY (TheSpread) – Rory McIlroy isn’t in the lead after one round of the PGA Championship, but he is close enough to still be the favorite entering the second round.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, McIlroy now has 7/4 odds to win the PGA Championship while Henrik Stenson has 13/2 odds and Jim Furyk and Lee Westwood each have 14/1 odds.

McIlroy carded a 5-under 66 on Thursday to start the PGA Championship one shot out of the lead. He had a minor scare mid-round, going +3 over two holes, but he birdied the next four to get back on track.

Stenson sits at -5 as well after posting a 66 in the first round. Stenson had just one bogey on the round, which came on the 15^th hole. Stenson is seeking his first major championship.

Furyk is also at -5 for the tournament after shooting a 66. He had a bogey-free round and finished his day with three straight birdies. Furyk is looking to claim his first PGA Championship.

Westwood joins Kevin Chappell and Ryan Palmer on top of the leaderboard at 6 under after shooting a 65 on Thursday. Westwood had nine birdies in his round and one double bogey as well. He is looking to claim his first major championship.
