Bowditch wins Valero Texas Open
SAN ANTONIO, TX (TheSpread) – Steven Bowditch picked up his first PGA Tour victory on Sunday, winning the PGA Valero Texas Open by one shot.
Bowditch kind of backed into the victory, as he had a three-shot lead entering the round but posted a 4-over 76 to finish at -8 overall, one shot ahead of Will MacKenzie and Daniel Summerhays.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Bowditch was a big long shot, as he had 200/1 odds to win. This means a $100 wager on Bowditch to win will pay out an additional $20,000.
MacKenzie shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday to move up to -7, but a lot of third-round leaders struggled. Matt Kuchar and Andrew Loupe each posted a 3-over 75 on Sunday to finish two shots behind Bowditch for the championship.
