Senden wins Valspar Championship
PALM HARBOR, FL (TheSpread) – The battle to win the Valspar Championship was tight, but it was John Senden that finished on top.
Senden posted a 1-under 70 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 7-under, which was one shot better than Kevin Na, who had a birdie putt on the final hole to tie Senden but couldn’t quite find the cup.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Senden was a longshot to win, as he had 100/1 odds. This means that a wager of $100 on Senden to win will pay out an additional $10,000.
Senden was able to win this tournament based on posting a 64 on Saturday, which did the majority of his work for him for the weekend. Robert Garrigus entered Sunday’s round at -8, but posted a 4-over 75 on Sunday to finish at -4 for the tournament and in a tie for fourth.
