76ers win third straight
After a brief funk, the 76ers have bounced back with three impressive wins over the Wizards, Pistons and Bucks. They are coming off a 121-109 win at home over Milwaukee. The 76ers are 23-10 on the year, 7-8 on the road, 15-15-3 against the spread and 17-15-1 with the over.
Philadelphia is putting up 110.1 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from the arc. Defensively, the 76ers are allowing 105 points per game while opponents shoot 45.7 percent against them. Philadelphia is led by Joel Embiid, who is averaging 23.3 points and 12.6 rebounds per contest. Tobias Harris is adding 19.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
Magic end skid
Orlando put an end to a three-game losing streak on Monday with a 103-95 win over the Chicago Bulls. The Magic are 13-17 on the season, 9-6 at home, 12-16-2 against the spread and 15-14-1 with the over.
The Magic are one of the stronger defensive teams in the league, allowing 104.9 points per game while holding opponents to 45.6 percent shooting. Offensively, Orlando struggles to just 103.5 points per game, while shooting only 43.3 percent as a team. NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games as a road favorite and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Friday games.
Orlando
The Magic are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight home games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games as an underdog.
Prediction:
The Magic won the first meeting with Philly on Nov. 13, 112-97, at home. The 76ers have looked great recently, but they now run into a defensive-minded team that may force Philly into being an outside-shooting team and slow the pace of play. The 76ers struggled at Brooklyn and at home with Miami and Dallas, who defended them a little differently. I think Orlando can execute that style of defense at home and give the 76ers some problems.
NBA Prediction: Orlando Magic +2.5
