Minnesota Timberwolves DFS Notes
Patrick Beverley shot 4-of-6 from three in Saturday’s 119-118 win over the Grizzlies, scoring 17 points (5-of-8 FGs, 3-of-7 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, and two blocks in 37 minutes. Beverley had a good night in Minnesota’s Game 4 victory but it could have been even better, as he shot less than 50% from the foul line. That being said we’ll take the overall production, especially as far as DFS is concerned. And with D’Angelo Russell shooting just 3-of-12 from the field, the contributions of Beverley and Jordan McLaughlin (16/2/2/2 with four 3-pointers in 14 minutes) were much-needed. Beverley and the Timberwolves will look to break the series deadlock (2-2) Tuesday night in Memphis.
Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
Ja Morant won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award on Monday. Morant was the betting favorite to take home this trophy all year long, and for good reason. King Ja radically ramped up his scoring this season, with his points per game jumping from 19.1 last season to 27.4 this year, and he did it while shooting 49.3% from the field and 76.1% at the line. He also hit career-highs in triples (1.5), rebounds (5.7) and steals (1.2) while handing out 6.7 dimes a night, so there will be no debate about Ja’s status as an easy early-round target next season.
