According to oddsmakers, the Indians are heavily favored today, as they are getting odds of -355 to win. The Royals are listed with a money line of +290 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 9 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 79 percent going on the Indians at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Royals getting beat up

Kansas City suffered a third straight loss on Friday, losing 4-1 to the Indians. They have scored one run in each of their last three games. The Royals are 45-84 on the season, 21-45 on the road and 62-61 with the under. Glenn Sparkman is taking the mound tonight. He is 3-8 on the season with a 5.40 ERA.

The Royals had just six hits in Friday’s loss for their one run. Hunter Dozier had a triple and a RBI for KC while Whit Merrifield and Alex Gordon each had two hits. Jakob Junis got the start and took the loss. He gave up four runs over four innings to fall to 8-12 on the season.

Indians stop losing streak

Cleveland had a three-game losing streak coming into Friday, but the Indians bounced back with a 4-1 victory over KC. The Tribe are 75-54 overall, 40-26 at home and 70-55 with the under. Cleveland has Mike Clevinger getting the start today. He is 8-2 on the season with a 3.11 ERA.

Zach Plesac got the win on Friday, as he allowed one run over 5.2 innings and struck out five. He improved to 7-4 on the year. Brad Hand got his 30th save of the season with a scoreless ninth. At the plate, Francisco Lindor had a two-run home run for the Tribe while Tyler Naquin drove in a pair of runs as well.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

KC is just 36-83 in its last 119 road games and 20-43 in its last 63 games against a right-handed starter.

Cleveland

The Indians are 15-6 in their last 21 home games and they have won six straight home games against a right-handed starter.

Prediction:

Clevinger has been pretty locked in for the past two months. He is 3-0 at home this year with a 1.85 ERA. Over two starts, Clevinger is 2-0 against the Royals with a 0.69 ERA. Sparkman hasn’t been too bad as of late, but he has a 9.00 ERA and an 0-4 record on the road. He carries a 9.37 ERA against Cleveland over three starts. I just don’t see KC putting up much offense on Clevinger while the Tribe are able to beat up on Sparkman.

MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -1.5 (-155)
