Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Nolan Arenado went 2-for-2 with a run scored and a walk in the Rockies’ loss to the Cardinals on Friday. Arenado reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances in this one. He singled twice, walked and was also hit by a pitch. The 28-year-old slugger was one of the few bright spots for the Rockies' offense, which was held hitless until the fifth inning by Cardinals' starter Jack Flaherty. He owns a sublime .304/.365/.563 triple-slash line with 83 runs scored, 32 home runs, 99 RBI and two stolen bases in 537 plate appearances this season.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI to power the Cardinals to an 8-3 victory over the Rockies on Friday. Ozuna kicked off the scoring with a mammoth two-run dinger -- his 24th long ball of the season -- to left field off Rockies’ starter Peter Lambert in the opening frame. He also plated an additional run with an RBI double off the left-field wall and came around to score on an RBI single by Paul DeJong in the sixth inning. The 28-year-old outfielder has left the yard in back-to-back games and has already gone deep four times in 19 games since coming off the injured list on August 3.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are 0-4 in Chi Chi Gonzalez’s last four road starts and are 3-12 in their last 15 road games when facing a team with a winning record.
St. Louis
The Cardinals are 6-1 in Dakota Hudson’s last seven home starts and are 14-3 in his last 17 outings at home.
Prediction:
The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and 6-1 in the last seven meetings at Busch Stadium but I like the under tonight. The under is a perfect 7-0 in Hudson’s last seven home starts and is 5-1 in his last six outings overall. The under is also 13-3 in the Rockies’ last 16 games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and is 6-1-1 in their last eight games when playing the third game of a series.
The Pick: Rockies/Cardinals UNDER 9
