Marlins drop another

Miami has lost seven of its last eight games following a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Braves last night. The Marlins are 45-79 on the season, 20-40 on the road and 58-58 with the over/under total. Miami has Caleb Smith on the mound this evening. He is 8-6 on the season with a 3.63 ERA.

The Marlins actually had an 8-7 hitting advantage on Tuesday night, but could only produce one run, as they stranded eight runners. The lone run for Miami came on a solo home run from Jon Berti. Brian Anderson led the team with three hits. Elieser Hernandez got the start and he gave up one run over four innings. Tyler Kinley then took the loss in relief by giving up one run over two innings. Kinley is 1-1 on the year.

Braves pitch to another win

Atlanta has won six of its last eight games thanks to the 5-1 victory last night over the Marlins. The Braves are 75-52 on the season, 37-27 at home and 63-57 with the over. Atlanta has Julio Teheran on the mound this evening. He is 7-8 on the season with a 3.71 ERA.

Dallas Keuchel had a strong start for the Braves, throwing six innings and allowing just one run while striking out seven. He improved to 4-5 with the victory. At the plate, Freddie Freeman hit his 32nd and 33rd home run of the season while driving in four to give him 102 RBI on the year. Matt Joyce added two hits and a RBI in the victory.

MLB Betting Trends

Miami

The Marlins are just 25-66 in their last 91 road games and 21-51 in their last 72 games against NL East opponents.

Atlanta

The Braves have won four straight against a left-handed starter and they are 7-3 in Teheran’s last 10 Wednesday starts.

Prediction:

Teheran is coming off his worst outing in some time, allowing six runs to the Mets in just 1.1 innings. However, he has bounced back pretty well from bad outings and should work through this Miami lineup tonight. He has an impressive 0.36 ERA over four starts against the Marlins this year. Smith has pitched pretty well for the Marlins this year but he carries a 6.48 ERA through three starts against the Braves. Look for Atlanta to roll again tonight.

MLB Prediction: Atlanta Braves -1.5 (-105)
