Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Eric Thames delivered three hits Wednesday in Milwaukee’s 6-5 win over Minnesota. Thames plated two of the Brewers’ six runs while also nabbing his third steal of 2019. All three of his hits—one double and two singles—came off Twins starter Kyle Gibson. The 32-year-old has held his own in a limited role this year, producing a respectable .256/.360/.495 batting line with 16 homers in 277 at-bats. With the win, the Brewers find themselves just one game behind the division-rival Cardinals for the NL’s second Wild Card spot.
Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Anthony Rendon went 2-for-4 and hit his career-high 26th homer Wednesday in the Nationals' 17-7 win over the Reds. Rendon has been hugging the 1.000 OPS line for a couple of months now; he slipped below it again yesterday, but he's back at 1.004 at the moment. He hasn't been above 1.022 or below .996 since the beginning of July. He actually hasn't been below .996 since the fourth game of the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 1-4 in Adrian Houser’s last five starts.
Washington
The Nationals have won seven straight starts in which Patrick Corbin starts at home.
Prediction:
The Brewers are 4-0 in their last four games against the Nationals, who are just 1-4 in their last five games when facing an opponent with a winning record. Washington is also 2-5 in Corbin’s last seven starts coming off five days of rest. Finally, the Brewers have won six of their last eight games overall and have won five of their last six games when their opponent allows five runs or more in its previous game.
The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers +138
