Royals fall again

The Royals suffered an 8-2 loss to Minnesota on Saturday. KC has lost the first two games of the series and three straight overall. Kansas City is now 34-76 overall and 19-39 on the road. KC is putting up 3.72 runs per game on offense while allowing 5.50 per contest.

Danny Duffy is getting the start for the Royals this afternoon. He has started 23 games this year and has a 7-9 record with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP. Duffy has pitched a total of 132.0 innings this year and has 120 strikeouts with 62 walks.

Twins seek sweep

Minnesota is looking to earn a weekend sweep of the Royals after taking the first two games of the series. The Twins are now 51-58 overall and 32-24 at home. Minnesota is putting up 4.45 runs per game on offense while allowing 4.68 per contest.

Ervin Santana gets the start for Minnesota on Sunday. He is making just his third start of the year as he won on the DL for most of the season. Santana has yet to record a decision, but he has a 6.10 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 10.1 innings on the mound. Santana has six strikeouts with three walks.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals have lost eight of their last nine Sunday games and they are just 8-20 in Duffy’s last 28 starts against AL Central opponents.

Minnesota

The Twins have won 13 of their last 17 home games and Santana’s last four starts against a losing team.

Prediction:

Santana hasn’t looked great in his two starts so far, but I think he can turn things around today against this poor KC lineup. The Royals have gotten some really good and really bad starts from Duffy. While he may look good today, I don’t think he will get great run support and he has a shaky bullpen that will follow him. I will stick with the Twins at home today.

The Pick: Minnesota Twins -145
