Kansas City had its four-game losing streak come to an end on Friday in a 7-4 win over the Nationals in 11 innings. KC is 30-59 on the season, 14-31 on the road and 45-39 with the over. Glenn Sparkman is getting the start today. He is 2-4 on the season with a 5.09 ERA.
The Royals put up three runs in the 11th inning after blowing a three-run lead late in regulation. A Washington error helped two of the runs score for KC. The Royals finished the game with 12 hits. Adalberto Mondesi had three hits and two RBI to lead KC at the plate while Alex Gordon and Jorge Soler each had two hits and a RBI. Brad Keller threw 5.2 innings in his start, allowing just one run on six hits and five walks. Ian Kennedy blew a save in the ninth while Brian Flynn got the win in the 10th.
Nationals end win streak

MLB Betting Trends
The Royals are 4-1 in their last five interleague road games, but just 21-50 in their last 71 road games overall.
The Nationals are 4-1 in their last five games following a loss and 8-3 in their last 11 home games.
Scherzer has been locked in for the last month. He has thrown at least seven innings in six straight starts and allowed just five earned runs over his last 45 innings on the mound. He also has double-digit strikeouts in five of the six starts. Sparkman gave up eight runs in three innings to the Blue Jays in his last start and has allowed at least three runs in four of his last five starts. The straight up odds are far too great to go with the Nats straight up, so take the run line.
MLB Prediction: Washington Nationals -1.5 (-180)
