Blue Jays end skid

Toronto had a five-game losing streak come to an end on Wednesday with an 8-6 win over Baltimore. The Jays are 24-43 on the season, 12-21 on the road and 35-30 with the under. Toronto has Marcus Stroman taking the mound today. He is 3-8 on the season with a 3.31 ERA.

The Blue Jays were winning comfortably before Baltimore put up four runs in the eighth to make things interesting. Edwin Jackson got the win by pitching five innings and allowed just two runs. He is now 1-4 on the year. Rowdy Tellez had two hits and four RBI to lead the Jays at the plate, including his 10th home run of the season. Vlad Guerrero Jr. added three hits while Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had two hits and two RBI.

Orioles unable to string together wins

Baltimore failed to get back-to-back wins on Wednesday in an 8-6 loss to Toronto. Baltimore is now 22-45 on the season, 10-23 at home and 34-31 with the under. The Orioles are have Gabriel Ynoa on the mound today. He is 0-2 on the season with a 4.96 ERA.

David Hess got beat up on Wednesday, allowing four runs in four innings to fall to 1-9 on the season. The Baltimore pen then gave up another four runs over five innings. Trey Mancini had two hits and scored two runs while hitting his 14th home run of the season. Chance Sisco added two hits and two RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

The Blue Jays are 1-9 in their last 10 games following a win and 1-7 in their last eight road games.

The Orioles are just 17-42 in their last 59 home games and 7-21 in their last 28 Thursday games.

Stroman is coming off two straight poor outings, but he has been pretty good for most of the year. Ynoa has just three starts, which have all been a bit shaky. Stroman has more experience as a starter and I trust him a little more than the Orioles. Toronto seems to have the bigger bats in the key spots as well. However, both teams have their clear flaws, so it is a bit of a wild card game. Still, I will go with the better starter in Stroman.

MLB Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays -145
