Reds drop another

Cincinnati fell 2-1 at Cleveland on Tuesday night, suffering a sixth loss in eight games. Cincy is 29-36 on the season, 14-21 on the road and 40-23 with the under. The Reds have Anthony DeScalafani on the mound today. He is 2-3 on the season with a 4.70 ERA.

The Reds suffered the loss in 10 innings on Tuesday night. Raisel Iglesias gave up the run to take his sixth loss of the season. Luis Castillo pitched six solid innings, allowing just one run on four hits with six strikeouts. Yasiel Puig led the team with two hits, including a double. Nick Senzel drove in the lone run for Cincinnati.

Indians add another win

Cleveland earned a 2-1 win at home last night to pick up its fifth win in seven games. The Tribe are now 34-32 on the season, 20-16 at home and 38-27 with the under. Cleveland has Zach Plesac on the mound tonight. He is 1-1 on the season with a 1.86 ERA.

Oscar Mercado drove in the game-winning run in the 10th inning for Cleveland tonight. Carlos Santana had a solo home run in the fifth to tie the game at 1-1. Trevor Bauer pitched 7.2 innings on Tuesday and had six strikeouts with five walks, but allowed just the one run. Brad Hand got the win in relief, as he pitched the final two innings and recorded four strikeouts.

MLB Betting Trends

Cincinnati

The Reds are 28-61 in their last 89 interleague games and 22-46 in their last 68 road games.

Cleveland

The Indians have won five straight against NL Central opponents and 5-2 in their last seven home games.

Prediction:

DeScalafani is struggling, allowing at least three runs in five of his last six starts, failing to get through six innings in all but one. Plesac only has three starts, but he has given up just four earned runs over 19.1 innings. The Cleveland pitching was the key on Tuesday night and I think it will be the key today. Plesac has had good stuff while DeScalafani isn’t likely to last long and I don’t trust the Cincy pen to get the job done.

MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -125
