Kansas City Royals Fantasy Spin
Adalberto Mondesi went 1-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in a 6-2 loss on Saturday to the Rangers. Mondesi's double gives him 14 on the season, and the steal gives the speedy shortstop 21 on the year over 57 games. Mondesi is now on pace to steal 59 bases on the season with a slash of .284/.327/.487, and he has not disappointed fantasy owners who bought in to last year's impressive numbers. They shouldn't be, anyway.
Texas Rangers Fantasy Spin
Joey Gallo will undergo an MRI exam on his injured left oblique on Saturday. This doesn't come as a surprise at all, as it was the next logical step to determine the severity of the injury that Gallo suffered on Saturday. It seems like its a foregone conclusion that the Rangers' slugger will wind up on the injured list, the only question remaining is how much time he'll miss. Expect the Rangers to provide an update as soon as the results are in.
MLB Betting Trends
Kansas City
The Royals are 11-40 in their last 51 games versus opponents from the American League West.
Texas
The Rangers are 6-1 in their last seven home games and 4-1 in their last five games overall.
Prediction:
The Rangers are just 2-7 in Adrian Sampson’s last nine starts and have dropped four of his last five outings when their opponent allowed five runs or more in its previous contest. While the Royals have had their fair share of issues versus the Rangers (5-21 in their last 26 games against Texas), I like Kansas City’s matchup with Sampson.
The Pick: Kansas City Royals +110
