Angels edged on Tuesday
Los Angeles took the series opener on Monday, 5-4, but then suffered a 1-run loss on Tuesday in a 4-3 defeat. The Angels are 20-2w on the season, 9-13 on the road and 23-17 with the under. Trevor Cahill gets the start for the Angels tonight. He is 2-3 on the season with a 6.35 ERA.
The Angels suffered the loss when Shohei Ohtani was tagged out trying to tie the game in the eighth inning. Los Angeles had 11 hits in the loss but only managed three runs in the sixth inning. Ohtani drove in a run during the rally and finished with three hits. David Fletcher had two hits with a double and a RBI. Cam Bedrosian took the loss by allowing a run in the first inning while Felix Pena gave up three runs over five innings of relief.
Twins grab a win
Minnesota snapped its brief 2-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 4-3 win at home over the Angels. The Twins are now 26-15 on the season, 14-8 at home and 20-20 with the over/under total. Jake Odorizzi is the starting pitcher tonight. He is 5-2 on the season and has a 2.32 ERA.
Eddie Rosario gave the Twins a RBI single in the first inning to get them started on Tuesday. Mitch Garver had his ninth home run and drove in two runs while also being the man to tag out Ohtani in the eighth inning. Kyle Gibson got the win, his fourth of the season. He pitched 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Blake Parker got the save, his seventh of the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angles are 5-1 in their last six games following a loss and 11-3 in their last 14 games against AL Central opponents.
Minnesota
The Twins have won Odorizzi’s last five starts and four of their last five Game 3’s.
Prediction:
Odorizzi has been on a tear, pitching 20 straight scoreless innings over his last three starts. He has 43 strikeouts with 15 walks. Cahill hasn’t gotten past six innings on the mound and has allowed at least four earned runs in four of his last five starts. Minnesota is dealing with a few injuries, as Garver got hurt last night and Nelson Cruz is questionable to play again after missing the last two games. Odorizzi should be able to handle himself just fine on the mound against an average Los Angeles lineup. He’s been really locked in and I think he will lead the Twins to the win.
MLB Prediction: Minnesota Twins -150
