Braves fall in 10 innings
Atlanta lost a fourth straight game Thursday night at Arizona by a count of 3-2 in 10 innings. The Braves took a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth inning on a Josh Donaldson solo home run, but the hosts tied it up in the bottom half before winning it in the 10th. Donaldson finished the night 1-for-3 with the home run plus a walk. Ozzie Albies was 1-for-5 with an RBI. Ronald Acuna Jr. finished 1-for-4 with a double. A.J. Minter suffered the loss in relief as he allowed one earned run on two hits with a walk while not retiring a batter. Julio Teheran will start tonight for Atlanta as he enters with a 2-4 record, 4.63 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 48 strikeouts over 44 2/3 innings.
Peralta, Marte lift D-Backs to win
David Peralta hit a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday night, while a Ketel Marte RBI single won it in the 10th as Arizona downed visiting Atlanta by a score of 3-2. Peralta ended the night 2-for-5 with the home run. Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk. Wilmer Flores finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Jon Duplantier picked up the win as he allowed one hit with two strikeouts in one inning of work. Zack Greinke will start today as he enters with a 5-1 record, 3.42 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 50 strikeouts over 50 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 0-4 in their last four road games. Atlanta is 0-4 in the last four meetings.
Arizona
The D-Backs are 6-1 in the last seven Greinke starts. Arizona is 4-0 in its last four games versus the NL East.
Prediction:
Teheran hasn't been able to find his form consistently over the last several seasons, while Greinke is about as consistent as they come. I'm surprised the moneyline isn't a little wider than it is, especially with Atlanta currently struggling. My advice is to take advantage and go with the home team to win another one tonight.
